Mandy is a 7 year old Cocker Spaniel mix that became paralyzed on December 18, 1997.
She has been called the poster child for paraplegic pets because she is such a happy little girl. She gets around really good by running with her front legs and she kind of lifts her rear end up as she runs. She is such a wonderful dog and I just can't imagine life without her. She ruptured a disc in her back and it destroyed some nerves and she has no control or feeling in her rear end. We don't know how she became paralyzed because we were not home and she was in the house. The vet thinks she must have jumped off the furniture the wrong way.
